The St Trinians played today in cold and windy weather, luckily the rain had stopped half hour prior to kick off. However the girls were full of joy and eager to play their game.
They started well but it was messy as they had bundled together to try and get the ball, which in one way was fantastic as the opposition couldn’t get the ball through towards our goal but we also couldn’t get the ball through to our striker either. The girls worked hard and had a few chances.
At halftime we asked the girls what had gone well and what could have gone better and their response was that they needed to spread out and make more passes. We helped them to understand the positions they need to be in and sent them back out.
They started fast and with the space they created they were getting more chances and playing much better football. The girls managed to score a few goals nearly allowing Tash to get her second hattrick of the season.
There was some fantastic football with tidy passing and it is evident that what we are working on in training is being brought to the game.
Amaya won the Girl of the Match award for her continued efforts around the pitch in both attacking and defensive situations.
Etty (Captain) took the Parent’s trophy home as it was awarded to the team for their teamwork and continuous improvement week in week out.
